Being a Disney and Star Wars fans since young, I always take every opportunity possible to see my favorite cartoon and Sci Fi characters such as Eeyore, Minnie Mouse, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and many more! Hence, for the whole of last week, I could not hide my joy when I received an invitation to visit the Sandcrawler Theatre at 1 Fusionopolis View by Disney Interactive for a game launch this week!!
I must complement Disney Interactive for taking no effect to fly Jason Moffitt, the Producer for Disney Infintity, all the way from Los Angeles to Singapore (over 20 hours of flight time) to unveil its most ambitious gaming initiative to date - Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition!
For Huneybees who are not familiar with Disney Infinity, this is an incredible game platform that unlocks the freedom to create stories and play experiences starring beloved characters from The Walt Disney Company and Pixar Animation Studios. By integrating collectible character figures with game console, Disney Infinity not only makes these figures come to life in the game but also brings the opportunity for the players to put characters from various Disney and Pixar films to play together in a virtual “Toy Box,” hence allowing players to both experience original adventures in some of their favorite Disney and Pixar worlds and to build their own worlds using the power of their imagination.
To cut the chase, here are the Top five (5) things to know about the new Disney 3.0 Edition:
#1 - Disney Infinity 3.0 is joining forces with Star Wars!
Hooray! Three Star Wars Play Sets - Twilight of the Republic, Rise Against the Empire and a yet to-be-named Play Set (available later in 2015) based on The Force Awakens have been added!Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to play with all of the Star Wars characters in all of the Star Wars Play Sets.
Twilight of the Republic is an all-new, original chapter of the Star Wars Saga, set in the Episodes I-III timeline. Get ready to use the Force and Lightsabers in epic battles as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Maul.
Rise Against the Empire features galaxy-spanning missions with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader. This Play Set is set in the timeline of the original trilogy and will send you piloting X-Wing Fighters and the Millennium Falcon to planets like Tatooine, Hoth, and Endor.
#2 – TRON characters Sam Flynn and Quorra will be available as physical figures at the release of Disney Infinity 3.0!
Need me to say more for fans of the American science fiction film TRON?#3 – Disney Infinity 3.0 will include more Disney characters and MARVEL too !
There will be a Play Set based on Disney•Pixar’s upcoming film Inside Out featuring all five Emotions Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust as playable characters. Fan-favorite characters Mickey, Minnie, Mulan, and Olaf will also be joining Toy Box 3.0.
From the Marvel Universe, there will be a MARVEL Play Set (to be announced later!), along with more MARVEL characters including Hulkbuster Iron Man and Ultron.
#4 – All-new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games will allow you to play with all of your Disney, Disney•Pixar, MARVEL, and Star Wars characters from Disney Infinity 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 together.
Toy Box Expansion Games Toy Box Takeover (action-adventure) and Toy Box Speedway (kart racing) will bring all-new, structured multiplayer gameplay to Toy Box 3.0.
#5 – Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack will be on sales for a lower suggested retail price of SGD99.99.
In direct response to your feedback, the Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack will now sell for a lower suggested retail price of $99.99.
The Starter Pack includes the Twilight of the Republic Play Set, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano Figures, and the new Toy Box 3.0. In addition to that, 3.0 Power Discs will come in labeled packs instead of blind packs.
