Top 5 Makeup Tips to Brighten Dull Face

A bright future!

Despite all the fuss going on in the present moment, I really DO think the future appears shining.

Last two weeks were crazy. I was depressed, disorganized and overwhelmed with the number of things on my platter. So I reached for my personal journal, grabbed my favorite color pens and started scribbling. I scribbled and scribbled until I got rid of all the clutter and felt the flow of fresh emotions.

I'm an emotionally driven person and whenever I feel any sort of hiccups or bad energy, it interferes with my ability to think, talk or take any rational decisions. In other words, I become irrational. But this activity helps me clear my mind and feel good about myself and the things around.

Another thing that helps me feel better is wearing bright makeup.

I really don't know exactly why and how does makeup helps me feel good. But for some reason, wearing bright makeup makes me look cheerful and this in turn starts to make me feel lively as well. So girls, if you're having a fit, here are my five best makeup tips to brighten up your face and mood in an instant:

Worries weigh down your mind depriving you of you much needed beauty rest. This can cause puffy eyes, dark circles, hollows and wrinkles around your eyes. A concealer would cover all these upsetting issues like a pro. Find one that blends into your skin as opposed to sitting on top of it.

Wearing a few shades lighter than your actual skin tone would not just cover up but highlight as well, making you look as fresh and lively as a morning rose!

My personal favorites: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concelaer, Maybelline Fit Me concealer and L'Oreal Paris True Match concealer.

A lip color in bright shades like pop pinks, corals, and orange can completely enliven your looks especially when you put gloss on top of it to add sheen and sparkle. Even if you do nothing but just wear a bright lip gloss, you can actually make your entire face appear brighter.

Highlighter is your best bet to glam up your looks in a flash. Apply on top of your cheekbones, above and right below your eyes and around the inner corner of your eyes for gorgeous sculpted look.

My personal favorite: Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow.

Girls never underestimate the power of a good blush to lift your face. When we are in a gloomy mood, it sweeps away all glow and color off your face, making you look pale and sullen. And a blush restores just that - your natural radiance and flush!

When choosing a blush, aim for bright shades like pinks and corals to liven up your look.

My personal favorites: Lakme Absolute Day Blushes, MAC Fleur Power, L'Oreal Paris Lucent Magique blush and Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush.

When you're looking to brighten up your look, always pick colored eyeliners or eye pencils over your regular kajal or black liner. Blue, green, and brown are great color choices to brighten your eyes. Apply highlighter or white liner on inner corners to help your eyes stand out.

My favorites: L'Oreal Paris Superliner Gelmatic Eyeliner in Deep Brown, L'oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza in Sapphire Blue, Maybelline Colossal Kajal in Turquoise and Crushed Emerald.

I start to calm down as soon as I start doing my makeup or writing down my feelings in a diary. And if I don't do any of these activities, I probably would cry for hours before getting normal to do anything else. And if I don't even get to cry, well that's the worst - I remain cranky for the rest of the week!

Anyways, that was about me. What do you do when you feel overwhelmed with things? How do you avert a fit? Would love to hear your thoughts, please share them in comments below.

Until then these makeup tips have been a boon for me lately in brightening my dull gloomy face and I hope they help you, too.
