Top 5 Favourite Johnny Depp Roles

By Newguy

Johnny Depp is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood today, sure he does have a few flops in recent years nothing can take away just how long his career has been since he first turned up in Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984. I am going to look at my favorite five roles of his career which I don’t always think are the best.

5. Sands – Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003)

sands

Sands is the corrupt CIA agent trying to pull the string in Mexico working both sides to get what he wants. The reason I love this film is for the one scene near the end with Sands and the shoot out.

4. Gilbert Grape – What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)

gilbert

Gilbert is the young man that has to deal with his autistic brother and his heavily overweight mother while trying to escape this small town. This film showed his serious talent next to the might DiCaprio.

3. Sir James Matthew Barrie – Finding Neverland (2004)

peter

J.M. Barrie created Peter Pan and this is the story of how he come up with the idea behind the fantasy characters when he meets a single mother and her kids. This is one of the sweetest and charming films you will ever watch.

2. Captain Jack Sparrow – Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

sparrow

Captain Jack Sparrow came from nowhere and his entrance is stuff of legends it is as simple as that his swagger and obsession with rum makes him one of the most entertaining characters of the Disney universe. I am only considering the first film in these statements.

1.   Sam – Benny and Joon (1993)

sam

Sam is the Buster Keaton fan that comes off as the odd brother of one of Benny’s co-workers that falls in love with his sister Joon.  We see how he uses his comedy to help her deal with her own mental health problems and Benny can finally get on with his own life.
