5. Pinocchio (1940)

pinoc

A living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy. I remember this being one of the first Disney films I ever saw and man when you are a kid this is easily one of the most frightening films you will ever see. The transformation scene is one of the most disturbing animated sequences ever put onto film.

4. Robin Hood (1973)

robin

The story of the legendary outlaw is portrayed with the characters as humanoid animals. This is another one I remember seeing a lot when I was younger it was always very fun and using the animals as different characters in the classic story works too.

3. The Jungle Book (1967)

jungle

Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization. The last of the truly classic Disney films that is included on my list and I liked this because of the songs that are still just as catchy as they were when I first saw. The characters also each have a level of uniqueness which makes them all memorable.

2. The Lion King (1994)

lion

Tricked into thinking that he caused the death of his own father, a young lion cub flees and abandons his destiny as the future king. This is the first one I saw at the cinema and from the opening sequences to the final conclusion this will always be considered a classic.

1. Treasure Planet (2002)

treasure

A Disney animated version of “Treasure Island”. The only difference is that the film is set in outer space with alien worlds and other galactic wonders. This is my favorite because it fulfils my sense of adventure in a film and it opens on the classically over told story into a new sense of sci-fi. It also has my all-time favorite Disney song ‘I’m Still Here’.
