Onto the top 20 . . .

31-20

20. Notting Hill (1999) 😂😃

A hollywood actress falls for a very English bookshop owner after a first chance meeting in the street. They then start a relationship but unsure he can make it work William rejects Anna.

“After all I am just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her”

Yes seriously even after she says that, dismissing the whole fame thing. One of my favorite film lines ever, yes really. I do love the way that she realises he has changed his mind as part of a press conference.

19. A Star is Born (1954) 💔😢

Esther/Vicki is a quick rising star especially after Norman Maine sees her for the first time. He helps really launch her career as well as being in a relationship together. They encounter many problems though as Norman becomes jealous and his drinking gets in the way. They are very much in love but she is put in a difficult position of her rising career or saving her husband. He takes that into his own hands though and solves the problem for them both in such a tragic way. Nothing is more powerful than her return to the Oscars after being embarrassed and using her late husbands name.

“Hello, everybody. This is Mrs. Norman Maine”

18. Dirty Dancing (1987) ❤️😃

Nobody puts Baby in the corner is quite possibly my worst ever film line, honestly I hate it but I will admit that I love this film. Johnny the dance instructor is very much a womaniser mainly because they all throw themselves at him, but he begins to change when Baby comes into his life. It really is such a great young love summer story and it does get better with each viewing.

“Me? I’m scared of everything. I’m scared of what I saw, I’m scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you.”

A great line in film and something that certainly screams love and romance!

17. Romeo + Juliet (1996) 💔😢

This is my favorite version of Romeo and Juliet, Baz Lurhman really does have great vision and skills when making a film. Keeping the Shakespeare language but putting it in a more modern setting. We all know this story more than any other, it is a great romance and has the most tragic of endings. The style of it all is certainly something that makes it a film to revisit many times. DiCaprio is certainly my Romeo.

16. Pretty Woman (1990) 😂😈😃

A film about a hooker who actually meets the man willing to save her is surely some kind of fairytale. Vivian just happens to get into Edward’s car one night not realising just how rich he is, and ends up being paid to spend the week with him. The chemistry between Roberts and Gere really is just incredible and something that makes the film just work. I cannot help but watch this one whenever I see it is on TV despite owning it. I never get sick of the romance and passion they both share.

15. Brief Encounter (1945) 😢💔

A man and woman meet at a train station and continue to see each other every week, growing the relationship with each moment they get to spend together. It is not long before they realize that they are in love with one another. Neither takes that final step to leave their current husband/wife. Can the love they share be worth losing everything else? That is something they must try and decide, that takes nothing away from the great romance they share. I think the fact it is a old film makes it that so much more romantic.

14. Runaway Bride (1999) ❤️😃

Julia Roberts (As Maggie Carpenter Aka The Runaway Bride And Richard Gere (As Journali

Maggie has come to Ike’s attention in New York after running from another wedding. She seems to have no problem agreeing to marry a man but doesn’t make it down the isle to actually complete the ceremony. He heads out to meet her and write a story about her, obviously this is not fantastic for Maggie and she does everything possible to try and get rid of Ike. The opposite to that actually happens though as they end up falling in love, however the “training” is not really enough to get her down the isle. I think this film shows just how great Roberts and Gere could still be together.

“Look, I guarantee there’ll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing. But I also guarantee that if I don’t ask you to be mine, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you’re the only one for me”

I think this film probably doesn’t get enough credit but it really is well worth the watch for the amusing moments and just to have Roberts and Gere together again if no other reason.

13. An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) 😈😃

Have you noticed how much I love Richard Gere yet? Well he’s something else in this one as well. Zack Mayo is in the Navy and meets Paula while completing his training. They start a relationship which isn’t always fantastic and happy but in the end when it all matters he really proves how much she means to him and that he doesn’t want to leave her behind. You know the factory scene where he picks her up and carries her out, wow wow wow!

12. Meet Joe Black (1998) 😢💔

Joe Black is actually death preparing Bill Parrish for his final moments being alive. Something strange happens though when he meets Susan (Bill’s daughter) and decides to understand what it actually means to live and love someone. This creates some truly intense moments as he has no experience of anything to do with love. It gives him a very interesting edge and massively romantic.

11. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) 😂😢😃

What would you do if you had a bad break up and then had the chance to erase everything about that person from your memory? Well that is something Joel decides to do about Clementine after hearing she has done the same with him. We are taken through their relationship as everything begins to get erased. It certainly shows that moments when memories can really change how you feel about someone. Is getting rid of the not only the hurt/pain but the good and happy things really the best thing to do? Should you start over given the chance?
