You can click on the photo above to learn how to participate yourself, or just follow along for the fun! Today's topic is "Best Books I've Read in 2012". A lot of books blew me away this year but I'm just going with my top 5. Click the covers/titles to go to their GoodReads pages!

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry: I just read this one yesterday but it quickly became my favorite YA read ever in the short 4 hours it took me to read it. Not being a contemporary fan, it blows my mind when a book that I normally wouldn't be into has the effect on me that this one did. I laughed, I cried, and I couldn't put it down. Whether you're into contemporary or not, if there's one book I could recommend to everyone, it'd be this one. (Buy it here - $9.99 at time of post)
Envy & Betrayal by Gregg Olsen: Now these books were right up my alley. The cover of Envy drew me in and the story held on tight for the whole ride. My degree is in Criminal Justice and I love a good murder mystery. These were the first YA novels I'd read of their kind and they will always stick out in my mind. The plots were unique, the characters were fun and there was just so much going on it was hard not to get sucked in. This is going to be a series of epic proportions, in my opinion. (Buy them here and here - $9.95 and $13.10 at time of post)
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver: This book started my contemporary journey. I bought it because it was a great price at a consignment shop, and I read it for a challenge I was participating in. If it wasn't for those two situations, I probably never would have picked up this book. I couldn't believe how much I loved it once I started reading it. It's a one of a kind story and actually made me rethink a couple of things in my life. When a book has that kind of impact, you know it's been a good one. This book was just so great, and I'm thankful to Lauren Oliver for opening my eyes to the contemporary world. I will be reading the rest of her books as soon as possible. (Buy it here - $7.99 at time of post)
The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting: If you've been paying much attention to me, you know that I am this woman's number one fan. No joke, I couldn't love another author as much as I love Kim. I've read everything she's written (that's out), I've stalked her online (numerous times), I'm participating in an upcoming book tour of hers (swing by Jan. 2nd for details), and even HOSTING another in April (this is my first time mentioning it, SURPRISE!!!). I loved this series and I think everyone and their mom should read it. I just love me some Kim! (Buy it here - $2.99 at time of post)
And thennn...
