Top 10 Cushions We’d Love in Our Home!

By Decorque

We have one in practically every room of our house, well except the bathrooms, but now there’s a thought…cushions are everywhere and they have the ability to add so much to a room. Whether that be to juxta-pose a color theme, style or pattern, brighten a certain area or bring life to a simple piece of furniture. They have made a massive comeback in the homeware world over the last few years, as people are getting really creative and bold with them. Even so far as making a statement by having an oversized cushion in a room as the main focal point.

I don’t know about you, but our cushions are mainly decorative, how often do you actually sit on one, if anything you only use it to prop your back up! I also like to layer cushions, so mix colours and sizes so they add something to our bedroom and make a statement. Mixing pattern is something I also like to try, and I like the versatility of having two designs on one cushion so I can swap and flip as much as I like.

To coincide with the launch of our new made-to-order cushion range on our main shop, certain styles launching this week, so keep your eyes peeled; we have decided to blog about our favorite 10 cushions available to buy now from other retailers and designers…not all might be to your taste but we think there is something for everyone. A mix of pattern, colour, classic/traditional vs. modern folk style to mention but a few. See our moodboard below and all references can be found at the bottom so if you really can’t resist and have to buy, we’ve made it easy for you!

Which one is your favourite? We’ve got a particular soft-spot for the Matthew Williamson watercolour scene on silk, but in contrast do love the quirky teapot overall repeat print by Zara too! It’s too hard to choose, and each one could have a place in our home!

This topic nicely links with the competition that our Head Designer is entering via the fabulous Ohh Deer website to submit a cushion cover design as part of their Pillow Fight Round II to see if they might be interested in having us as a new creative to add to their collection, fingers crossed! Have you seen some of the entries? They’re just so amazing. There is still two days, so if you fancy it, get designing!!
