This first one really shows the detail that Franc can get with his drill, as you might amazing each one is very delicate and now and then they do indeed break on his hands. And yes that is him behind the egg.

Most people might not have heard of Ivan Cankar before, but this writer born in 1876 in the village of Vrhnika is praised as a premier Slovene writer of his time and he lived just 2 miles from Grom’s home! Hence the reason it inspired him to make this art piece.

Made in 2011 it was made at the request of a close, personal friend of Grom’s. While the front is obviously the Che Guevara portrait, the back of the egg features Slovene lace motifs.
