Too Early to Talk About Cancelling Olympics – Japan

Posted on the 25 February 2020 by Indianjagran

Japanese health minister Katsunobu Kato said on Tuesday it was still too early to speak about cancelling the Tokyo Summertime Olympics, which begin on July 24, due to the coronavirus and its spread in Japan.

The spike comes as health minister Katsunobu Kato voiced worries that the rising infection count among the nation’s general population could mean the spread of the virus has entered a new phase.

“Japan’s health minister urged the public to avoid crowds and “non-essential gatherings”, including notoriously packed commuter trains, to prevent #SARSCoV2 spreading. Katsunobu Kato warned Japan was “entering a new phase” in the outbreak of the virus”

Concerns have risen about whether the Olympics must be moved or canceled, with one London mayoral candidate stating London was all set to host the video games if required.
