Tesco sure are bringing out a lot of cakes lately, but who doesn't love cake? After the divine chocolate fudge cupcakes I bought the other day, I went back to see what else was available, and was immediately drawn to these chocolate and salted caramel slices. Salted caramel has become a big thing in supermarket snacks lately, and rightly so, 'cause it's delicious. So what could go wrong with sticking it on top of a chocolate cake?
This cake is good. Not only do we get a generous helping of frosting in between and on top, but there are tiny chunks of caramel and some caramel and chocolate drizzles on top. The frosting is super sweet, verging on treacle, but it's balanced out by the creaminess, and the moist chocolate sponge. All the flavours come together to make one fantastic piece of cake. Bravo Tesco, another great addition to the cake aisle.
