Tenacious D, the Jack Black fronted American mock rock duo, has risen from its hiatus. That’s right, Black and Kyle Gass, the men behind cult 2006 movie Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny are back with a new album – Rize of the Fenix.
To tub-thump for album track To Be the Best, the mock rock band have enlisted the support of celebrities including Val Kilmer, Jimmy Kimmel, Maria Menounos, Josh Groban and Dave Grohl, among others. Huffington Post reassured that, “even if you don’t like their original eponymous hit album, you’re bound to like this celebrity-filled cameofest of a publicity video.” Mashable purred that the latest offering “fails to disappoint” and is both “epic and hilarious.”
