The morning of 16th May 2018 dawned ~ and we were a bit tensed – anxious to see the results and were praying that our students do come out with flying colours !
Today TN Board HSC 12th standard (popularly +2) results have been announced. With an overall pass percentage of 91.1 per cent this year, the class 12 results in the State saw a slight drop when compared to 2017 where an overall pass percentage of 92.1 percent was recorded. Ahead of the announcement of results for students at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday, Minister for School Education K.A. Sengottaiyan announced the overall performance of the State at a press conference. “Girls have secured a pass percentage of 94.1 per cent and boys have recorded 87.7 per cent,” he said. This is the first time in the last five years that the pass percentage has seen a dip. Over 9.07 lakh school students and private candidates had taken up the class 12 board exams which had begun on March 1. The school education department, in a first, had announced the date of the exams as well as the results at the start of the academic year, in a move to keep students stress free.
As was done last year, the education department has not announced the names of students who are toppers or have secured State ranks. Schools have already been intimated through a circular that they should avoid publicising students as toppers and Mr. Sengottaiyan too said that schools will be contacted if found to be doing so. This move was taken in order to ensure that students did not feel pressurised.

Students
of our tuition center SYMA Growth have performedwell. This is to be seen and understood in the background that – all our
students are from lower strata of society, many of them being first generation
students, odds are pitted against them in terms of infrastructure, parental
support and general level of education. In Science stream all
(22) students have passed. One of them secured above 1000/1200.In Commerce stream, 22 of 27 have passed – 2
got above 1000 with the topper securing 1120 with 199 marks in Accountancy
& Commerce.
SYMA in Social
service since 1977, has been involved in educational service too. We live by
the axiom that ‘Education is the only tool which can uplift the Society and
empower the lower echelons of the Society’. The foremost responsibility of a
Social Service Organisation is to improve the society and help the
underprivileged.This is better done by
providing the children good education. A
fullfledged tuition centre, ourcherishedinitiative in educating the economically poor children, uplifting their
standards and making them responsible citizens is now a decade old. At SYMA
Growth, we haveX Std Tamil Medium; X
Std English Medium; +2 Commerce Group and +2 Science Group.
inauguration last year
In this period of
ten years, we have strived to change the lives of at least 1000 + children
providing quality tuition thereby making them responsible citizens of the
society. Many people have helped us in
rendering this service.The success is
due to the blessings of Lord Parthasarathi who guides us in all our steps. Our sincere thanks are due to all teachers,
our coordinator Smt. Thara, all old students of Growth, NKT school management
and principal, our main sponsor "Manpower",
A Big THANK YOU to
all ~ SYMA rededicates itself to the cause of providing quality education to
under privileged. Our Tuition Centre SYMA Growth enters its 11th year of operation. We will be enrolling
students and launching the academic year from June 2018. Applications are to be
issued @ 9.30 am on Sunday, the 20th May 2018 at NKT National Boys High School.
The selection is primarily on economic
criteria. Those with parental income of Rs.20000/- and above are not
considered. It would be of interest to
you to know that the selection weighing some more parameters : physically challenged, students
of schools of lower fee structure, parents illiterate, parental occupation being manual labor / coolie and
the like, orphans, children of destitute / single mother – all accorded some
additional mark enabling that we select students who otherwise do not have
access to quality tuition by paying fees.
praying for the success of our students on concluding day and

In
the recent past, we have witnessed people crowding to get application, thereby
some chaos and some disappointments.Studying the way TN Engineering Counselling is done, this year we are
contemplating on issuing applications to all those who come to the venue at the
appointed hour, scrutinize the filled-up forms, and if the qualifying marks are
still the same – have them in seriatum and select based on random number
assigned by Computer.Ensuring
transparency and propriety in all our actions aimed at helping those students
who otherwise would have no access to such quality education.
Queue for application forms..
Thank
you once again and invite you all in Social upliftment.
With regards – S.
Sampathkumar.
