Be Original
When starting a blog you need to be original. Do not compare yourself to other bloggers especially successful ones because at the end of the day you are not them. You will want your blog to be completely unique and it should represent you as a person.
Don't Copy
The last thing you want to do when blogging is copy another blogger. It's ok to have a look at blog posts for inspiration but please don't copy. Again you need to be unique, I believe you should write from the heart. That way your readers should see your personality shine through.
Have a Nice Theme
This isn't essential but I do believe it helps. When I find a new blog to read I always have a nosy at their theme. I love it when a blogs look catches my eye. You can find many themes online now but you could also get someone to design one for you.
Link All Your Social Media
I feel that this part plays a big part in your blogs life. If someone likes your blog they may want to see what other Social Media you have. Link up your twitter, facebook, YouTube, Pinteretst, Instagram etc. I also have a button for my email.
Do not use 'SMS' language
When blogging it is very important to use the correct english and you want to look professional. You are not going to look professional is you are writing incorrectly. (txt, hi, bbz, luv etc)
Don't overuse the smiley
When I started blogging this was a thing I did a lot. I always thought I needed to use ':)' but I don't. I now only use it when I feel its necessary.
Interact With Your Readers
This is ridiculously important, you need to interact with your readers. This can be via the comments, on twitter or instagram. I love chatting to my readers if makes me feel really happy. The blogging community is amazing, just get involved and don't be shy.
