Tips For Balancing Work and Family!

Get organized.  Getting and staying organized is such an essential key to finding yourself more free time.

Keep the home clean.  Make some time to get the house clean and organized.  Once your home is clean, practice good habits to keep it that way.  For a step by step guide to getting your home organized (as well as yourself) check out my latest eBook by clicking here!

Get your rest!  According the National Sleep Foundation, adults should be getting anywhere from 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night, while teenagers should be getting at least 8 1/2 and children, 11 or more!  Be sure to get enough sleep to help you function properly during the day.

Be careful not to burn yourself out.  Although it is important to get everything that needs to be done finished, it’s equally as important not to burn yourself out while doing so.  After all, you deserve relaxation too!  Give yourself a cut off time at night for relaxation.  Attempt to stop any work past 9pm and enjoy your free time.

Do not skip meals. Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but the other meals are equally as important.  Do not skip on your meals.  Pack yourself low-calorie snacks to keep on you throughout the day if needed.

Plan easy meals for the week ahead.  The easier a meal is to make during the week, the better.  For budget friendly, time efficient recipes, click here!

Enforce a schedule for the family.  Try to get the family on a schedule so they can learn to budget their time as well.  The best way to start this is to try to have dinner prepared around the same time everyday.

Set aside a one night a week for family night.  Everyone’s schedules maybe different, so it is important to make time for each other.  Whether it’s Friday Family Game Night, Saturday Pizza Night, or Sunday Family Dinner, be sure to get the family together at least one set night a week to get caught up on all the weeks activities and events.

Keep on top of your errands.  Don’t put off tomorrow, what can be done today.  If you have the extra energy, get your errands done ASAP.  This includes grocery shopping, laundry and paying your bills.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help.  Although we all have a superhero in each of us, it is still okay to ask for help every now and then.  Don’t be afraid to ask your children or significant other to chip in with the chores when or where they can.

Have the family pitch in with the chores.  Offer incentives to the family for doing chores around the house such as allowance or special treats after dinner.

Take a little “me time” now and again.  Whether it’s sitting back and reading a good book, watching a sporting event or performing the perfect as home facial on yourself, it is okay to take a little time to yourself to re-energize to take on the next adventures life will hand you!
