Grammy-winning producer Timbaland has recently expressed his support to Yuga Lab’s MMORPG metaverse named “Otherside.” “I am excited to release my investment in @yugalabs, the #Web3 company behind the world’s largest #NFT brands in @BoredApeYC, @cryptopunks, and more,” he tweeted.
“As the whole industry evolves into the early stages of #Metaverse, decentralized ownership and a new world of digital art, we will keep on to move toward full independence of artists and music creators,” Timbaland added.
In addition to being a producer, Timbaland is the creator of the Beatclub. It is a marketplace platform which links the community of music makers with record labels, music publishers, film and television, brands, content creators, and independent artists. Members of the club include J Cole, Tainy, and Justin Timberlake.
With his investment in Yuga Labs & interest in its future metaverse, does this indicate that we will have Beatclub’s artists on the “Otherside”? Will we see their works as NFT? We have to wait and see.
Just lately, Yuga annonced Apecoin and bought CryptoPunks and Meebits. For this reason, the company has been in the spotlight of the NFT space for some time. The hype is just charged by their “Otherside” video teaser on Twitter. This led many NFT projects to partner with the developers of the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
The previous week, nWayPlay stated they are working with Bored Ape Yacht Club . The decentralized marketplace will include ApeCoin in their new play-to-earn game. Animoca Brands also revealed an announcement on March 17 which their P2E game combines ApeCoin.
Finally, Yuga Lab raised $450M in funding the previous day. The NFT developers are currently worth $4 billion. The co-founders stated they will use the money to build their NFT empire. Besides, they added their Web3 space “Otherside” will be a world in which NFT projects can collaborate.
