Right now, in my inbox, three press releases are waiting for attention. But what grabs me instead? A post shared publicly by someone on Google Plus. But not my fault that, the product displayed in that post is really cool.
The product is called Tile. And it looks like a plain, white tile. But what it does is really wonderful. This small and sleek tile could be attached to anything of value, like your laptop, bike, car keys, bags and wallets etc. And then, it’s just a matter of using an app on your smartphone (as of now, only Apple devices) to keep track of these valuables. No matter where they go, or are taken, you’ll know.
It’s only just beginning for Tile, and so it is not yet available for every smartphone device. The availability is also limited to just a few countries.
But the idea is really good, if it can deliver. Although, I am thinking, once this becomes popular. Won’t the thieves also know of it? And then, searching for it on the product would be the first thing they will do. And once it is found, I don’t think there is any security measure that can prevent them from detaching it and throwing it away.
