England, 1940. Literature student Ruth Gladstone evacuates Cambridge University for Martynsborough, a tiny English village with a shadowy history. I really enjoyed Through A Darkening Glass. I've read a lot of historical fiction in recent years so felt quite at home with this book and the characters and world created between the pages. I wasn't a huge fan of the romance elements, but I loved the cover and enough happens aside from the romance to hold my interest. I liked the mystery elements even though they were predictable at times. Overall, this is a good read.
