If you work for yourself out of an office block or run an office firm, and you have to go through the hassle of moving offices it can be hard to know where to start. There is a lot more to do other than just moving furniture and the such like. With these tips you will be able to gain a grasp on what needs to be done to make moving day as smooth as possible.

If you are working from the office then it is likely that you have utilities setup for the office. Things like, internet, phone line and electricity will all be being paid for so you need to make sure when you are changing office that you notify your suppliers in advance to make sure there are no issues with the change over, as the last thing you want to do is arrve at the new office and not have any utilities to be able to carry out your job. If you are changing suppliers then make sure that your current supplier is notified so they can cancel it and you are not being charged twice, when cancelling the suppliers make sure to have them turn it off the day after you leave so you don't have it go down while you may still be working. If you are struggling to organise the move over of your suppliers then there are companies out there that will help with moving equipment such as phones and computers and help with sorting out the suppliers for it like your telephone line and Internet.

Setup Your New Office

Before you get to your new office and put everything in you need to make sure that your office is setup to start work as soon as you move in. You need to make sure that the office is decorated how you want it and that it is decorated appropriately to motivate and is not a dingy workspace. You will also need to make sure that all the correct IT cable are in for your computers and phones, and make sure that electric sockets are in the relevant places for how you want your office space laid out.

Put Furniture In The New Office

Before you move offices then it is best to have the furniture all set up in the new place first as this will help you set up quicker with your computers and telephones as they can be put straight into where they need to be. If you are not taking furniture with you then having the furniture delivered and setup is made at lot easier in this instance as you don't have to move it from the old building and lose out on work being done.

Moving office can be stressful and at times may seem unnecessary but in some cases you have no choice, so with these tips you will be able to make your office move as smooth as possible without losing too much work time in the process and making sure you remain and your workforce remain as stress free as possible.
