Police arrested three persons in connection with the burning of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private residence on Saturday. Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa said the suspects were revealed to be residents of Mount Lavinia, Ja-Ela and Galle.
The three persons arrested in connection with the arson attack on the Prime Minister’s residence were remanded until July 20 after being produced in Courts.
The Colpetty Police are conducting further investigations into the arson. Around the time of the attack on the Premier’s residence, a power cut was reported in the area, despite no power cuts being scheduled after 6pm on Saturday.
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka assured that an investigation will be conducted in this regard.
