What kind of man rapes his own 3 year-old little girl? Admits it, pleads guilty, yet receives no jail time?
Robert H. Richards IV a Du Pont heir, that's who. He is now being accused of also sexually abusing his toddler son as the ex-wife sues Richards for compensatory and punitive damages for assault, negligence, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress on his two children, according to reports.
In 2008, Richards plead guilty to fourth-degree rape of his 3 year-old daughter, and is still currently on probation but was never sentenced to prison and now details that were never made public at the time are listed in the current lawsuit.
Key quotes from the Delaware Online article:
• The lawsuit claims that Richards raped his daughter, now 11, in 2005 when she was 3. Several times, he entered her bedroom at night while she slept and penetrated her with his fingers while masturbating, said the lawsuit, which includes documents from the criminal case.
• The lawsuits asserts that Roberts also admitted in April 2010, while on probation, that he sexually abused his son. Those assaults began around December 2005, when the boy was 19 months old, and continued for about two years, the lawsuit said.
• The revelations allegedly came while Richards was taking a lie detector test, ordered in an attempt to get Richards to be more forthcoming about his sexual history. Richards told the examiner he "was very concerned that something happened with his son but that he has repressed the memories,' " He told the examiner he worried that his acts were "similar to what happened with his daughter," the lawsuit said. "But he promised that whatever I did to my son, I will never do it again."
A man is supposed to protect his children but this man became the monster parents hold the responsibility of protecting their children from.
