Serunuwara, Hasalaka and Puwarasankulama Police Stations on Wednesday arrested 13 people including five businessmen and a teacher excavating the Seruwawila, Udawatte and Salambakulama forest reserves in search of treasure on Wednesday (10).
Police said that five persons in the age group of 54 to 54 who were digging the Seruwawila forest reserve for treasure were arrested on Wednesday morning and they are residents of Elapatha, Kotugoda, Mirigama and Negombo.Police said that these suspects possessed a scanner to scan the underground objects.
Four suspects were arrested in Udawatte forest reserve and they are farmers in the age group of 35 to 57 residing in Udawatta, Batamulla and Hasalaka Police said. Puwarasakulama police also arrested four people in Sarambakulama reserve including a teacher and three businessmen.They were arrested while digging for treasure.
