Things to Stream Vol. III

By Prettylittlemrs @PrettyLittleMrs
Things To Stream Volume Three: movies & shows to add to your online queue.

Here are four good reasons to cuddle up and spend the weekend inside with good programming: it’s cold. it’s snowing. it’s Valentine’s Day. House of Cards Season II hits Netflix tomorrow. Once you’re done binge-watching that…check out these…

1. Captain Phillips  (Rent on Amazon, $3.99)- Score 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. Based on the true story of a 2009 hijacking of a U.S. ship. Tom Hanks is unbelievable. He was truly robbed of that Oscar nomination.

2. Blackfish (Watch on Netflix) – Score on 98% Rotten Tomatoes. A documentary about killer whales in captivity.

3. Arbitrage (Watch on Netflix) - Score 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Richard Gjere as an adulterous, fraudulent hedge-fund manager.

4. In a World (Rent on Amazon, $3.99)- Score 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Such a quirky but engaging story line. Will remind you of why you love Lake Bell.

5. Enough Said (Rent on Amazon, $4.99) - Score 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Comedic account of divorce, parenting and middle-aged dating.

6. Fruitvale Station (Rent on Amazon, $3.99) - Score 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. This Sundance award-winner follows a 22-year old on the last day of his life.

7. Don Jon (Rent on Amazon, $4.99) - Score 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. Another movie where you are going to see some things. Hilarious plot and Joe-Go-Lev is too cute for his own good.

8. Prisoners (Rent on Amazon, $3.99) - Score 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.

9. The Following (Watch on Netflix) - Score 62% on Metacritic. Television series (season one is on Netflix). Kevin Bacon plays a detective trying to understand a cult and bring down it’s leader.

10. Bad Grandpa (Rent on Amazon, $2.99)- Score 61% on Rotten Tomatoes. I’m gonna have to disagree with this score. This should be like 85%. It was hilarious and so fun to see these guys do a movie with a plot.

11. Side Effects (Watch on Netflix)- Score 71% on Rotten Tomatoes. An intense psycho-thriller that has an incredible ending.

12. End of Watch (Watch on Netflix) - Score 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Piña play cops in South Central L.A. and are filmed documentary-style in this heart-thumping thriller.

13. Art of Flight: The Series(Watch on Netflix) – No Scores. If you’re a snow-sport enthusiast you have to sit down and watch this series. We watched it with dropped-jaws before our ski trip our west. They’re crazy.

14. House of Cards (Watch on Netflix after 2.14.14) – Score 76 on MetaCritic. If you’ve been under a rock then you’re in luck: you can watch all of season 1 right now. Season 2 comes out tomorrow and all the episodes will be available for streaming on Netflix.

15. Amazon Pilots (watch all 5 shows on Amazon for Free)- Amazon recently released pilot episodes for 10 TV shows. Watch them online and then vote for which one you think should be made into a full series. So far we approve of Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle.
