There are a few things in life, some of them chores kinds of things, that make these not so fun things a little easier – and to celebrate Amazon Prime Day I’m sharing a few of the kinds of things that make my life easier, and help me be a bit more stylish.
A Mirror You Can Actually See Yourself in
If you have a bathroom that has a window on one side it’s hard to know if your makeup is evenly applied, this is why a mirror like this with its own light is fantastic as it means you’re evenly lit when putting on your makeup.
This is also a fabulous mirror if you do personal color analysis, no need for additional daylight lights – as it’s all integrated and a good size for doing color analysis.
Makeup Brushes
A good set of makeup brushes makes a difference to your makeup application, and these days you don’t need sable, instead the synthetic brushes are fantastic.
Garment Steamers
I hate ironing but I want to look uncrushed, so a steamer has changed how I feel about getting smooth clothes as it’s much easier to hang my silk tops or knitwear up and just pass the steamer over the top
Irons that Don’t Drip
When I do Iron, I don’t want an iron that drips and leaves stains on my clothes
Lint Removers
My beloved whippets Bo and Arrow don’t shed much hair (whippets aren’t big shedders fortunately, they don’t have a lot of hair themselves) but they do shed a hair or two over time and leave them behind on my clothes and my green chair (the one you’ve seen in my videos), so a sticky lint roller is a good way to get rid of these hairs without fuss.
Robot Vacuum Cleaner
Vacuuming isn’t something I love, and when my husband decided to buy us a robot vacuum cleaner I wasn’t sure about it, but it’s now one of my favorite household gadgets because it does the work and I don’t have to! Great for pet owners and kid owners to keep that annoying grit, dust and hair off the floor all the time.
And then a few years later he decided to get a mopping version… cutting down on the need to mop so frequently
Electric Throw Blankets
I’m someone who feels the cold, and particularly when I’m sitting for periods of time – like at my desk, in winter or just on a cool morning in autumn and spring, I often grab my electric heated throw blanket and wrap it around me so my feet and legs (and kidneys) stay warm.
Wardrobe Hangers
If your wardrobe space is smaller than you’d like, or you’re just sick of your clothes sliding off your hangers, these velvet hangers are the best.
Air Purifier
During Covid, I invested in an air purifier for my office so that when I have clients around I could make sure that the air was as clean as possible. Well, we tried it in the bedroom at night and my husband’s snoring reduced significantly, so then we invested in one just for the bedroom as well, cos you know a good night’s sleep is a beauty (and mood) enhancer.
