Story: Thine Ears Shall Bleed starts when Rev Ezekiel Thatcher (Hovelson) travels across country with his family, Sarah (Cabell), Abigail (Zawada) and Luke (Hudson). They are on a journey to pick an organ hoping to increase the following at his church.
However, they get caught at a crossroads and become lost in the woods. They hear a noise and believe it is God’s message, and Ezekiel dives into a deeper religious following. It seems things are starting to improve for the family, but then the noise brings a much more sinister side.
Verdict on Thine Ears Shall Bleed
Thine Ears Shall Bleed is a horror thriller following a religious family who get lost in the woods. They believe they have made contact with God, and he is sending them messages. However, they discover a much darker side to what is going on in the woods.
This movie uses the 18th-century religious following mindset. Any message means he is communicating with them, but things can take a much darker turn. The concept is interesting and one that balances the idea of miracles and their source. However, it feels like an extremely long movie and never manages to focus enough on the changes unfolding. Sadly, the movie feels like it drags along, despite having moments of shock, there doesn’t seem to be enough happening, even though massive things occur. The religious undertone can get lost and the movie attempts to bring a disturbing factor which doesn’t come off early enough.

Final Thoughts – Thine Ears Shall Bleed is a slow horror, despite having a disturbing concept.
