Thiago to Stay at Barca Says Mazinho

By Stizzard

According to Thiago Alcantara’s father Mazinho, an ex Brazil star, his son  is staying put at Barca despite great interest from Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal.

There has also been some interest from both Roma and Juventus for the 21 year old attacking midfielder. Thiago is said to be disillusioned at Barca as he has to compete with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta for a first team place.

Many young players have gone by the wayside and i hope it doesn’t happen to young Alcantara. I mean, playing for the best team in the world is great – only if you have a first team place that is.

Thiago has a contract until 2015 and his father is stating that his son is going nowhere. Who’s in charge here by the way? It appears that Mazinho is not vying for his son’s interests. With so much interest for the youngster it might be a good idea to pack ones bags and move on.

I would hate for the talented youngster to end up on the scrapheap for failing to head the warning signs. It might be the opportunity that he needs. He’s a young guy who needs to prove himself and he won’t be doing that on Barca’s bench, no matter how “cool” the idea sounds.
