But when a local property developer shows up dead, 'The Thursday Murder Club' find themselves in the middle of their first live case.

I knew I wanted to take part in the blog tour when I read the blurb for this book. It sounded like such fun. And it really was. This book has elements of a cosy mystery with a thriller and murder mystery thrown in for good measure. The activities for the four elderly main characters are harmless at first and fit neatly into a cost mystery, poring over old case files of unsolved crimes and looking for something the police might have missed. Pretty harmless, right? Then things get pretty dark and series when a murderer strikes close to home and they can't resist solving a real-life crime and encourage a local police woman to help them. This is such a well-written, engaging and fun read, despite the dark overtones at times. This is a terrific read. It reminds me of the books of Rachel Joyce. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron are brilliant characters, full of mischief, passion and life. Joyce is my favourite. She made me laugh a lot. This is a treat.
