These Farmhouses Start Fresh as Modern Homes

While renovating this upstate New York barn from the early 1800s, architect Preston Scott Cohen worked to keep the structure's frame in "pristine form" while also establishing a dialog between the past and present. A primary challenge was creating a sense of cozy domesticity despite the building's monolithic foundation.
