Studying abroad gives you the chance to learn about different countries and gain experiences that you can’t get anywhere else. However, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test of language skills is a big problem for many people who want to go to college abroad. Luckily, many countries offer other options for students who want to study abroad but don’t need IELTS grades.

Here are the top ten countries offering such opportunities.

Countries don’t Require IELTS for Higher Education

Germany

More and more programs in Germany are taught in English, so foreign students can study there without having to take the IELTS test. This is especially true at the master’s level. There are, however, other ways to test English ability.

France

Many classes at French universities are taught in English, and many don’t need IELTS scores to get in. Students may have to show that they can speak and write English well through different tests or conversations.

Norway

There are many English-taught programs at Norwegian universities. IELTS scores aren’t always needed, but other tests may be used to check your English skills.

Sweden

There are many English-taught programs at Swedish universities. While IELTS grades may not be required, students may need to show they can speak and write English well in other ways.

Netherlands

Many colleges in the Netherlands offer their courses in English, and students who have already finished school in English or who are from an English-speaking country may not have to take the IELTS.

Denmark

Like many other European countries, Denmark has classes that are taught in English. For students from English-speaking countries or who have already finished school in English, they may not need to take the IELTS test.

Poland

Some colleges in Poland offer English classes, and they may not require the IELTS if you can show that you can speak and write English well in other ways.

Hungary

There are universities in Hungary that offer English studies and might not require the IELTS if you have already studied English.

Malaysia

You might not have to take the IELTS test if you go to certain colleges in Malaysia that offer English classes.

Singapore

In the same way, some colleges in Singapore offer English classes and may not require the IELTS if certain conditions are met or if you have studied English before.
