In the last two months, we have seen widespread news of child abuse ranging from abuse to murder.

Tia Sharp was murdered by her grandmother’s boyfriend. April Jones, a 5 year old from wales has been murdered by a friend of the family, her body has still not been found but Mark Bridger has been charged with murder and before a few days, we saw long time tv person, Jimmy Savile amidst claims of abuse. He is now dead and it is only now that this has appeared in our news. This man was given an OBE/MBE I’m not sure which from the Queen of England which made him a ‘sir’…I hope this is now stripped of him.

Jimmy Savile’s abuse claims are coming in in hundreds.

”In a separate incident, former nurse June Thornton said she saw Savile abuse a brain-damaged young girl at Leeds General Infirmary. Ms Thornton was a patient at the time of the alleged incident and was recovering from an operation.

She said: “She had brain damage, and Jimmy Savile came in and kissed her.

“He started kissing her neck, running his hands up and down her arms, and then started to molest her.” Source

I have told my husband, we trust our children with nobody and that includes immediate family. Terrible thing to say and of course, I trust my family but these people all have mothers/fathers/sisters/brothers, the same goes for murderers. The majority of child abuse cases and child murders are infact carried out by people that the children know.

Trust only yourself with your children. Don’t allow someone to abuse your child. They are your responsibilty. My children stay in my house with me, sleepovers are not allowed in anyone’s house and never will be allowed. Over-protective mother? Maybe but rather be safe than sorry.

Our children are precious and should be treated as such.
