Then End of Geography: Tatiana Plakhova

By Utpalpande @utpalpande

Tatiana Plakhova is an impressionist of the digital age. She combines nature and figments of her imagination to create worlds that are both distant and close. There is a visual complexity in her work yet the overall treatment and attention to composition results in a cohesive mix of beautiful photography and intricate elements that are beautifully interwoven into a theme. There is an organized chaos and calculated randomness that makes her work both beautiful and very detailed.

“The Internet Age has been hailed as the end of geography. In fact, the internet has a geography of its own, a geography made of networks and nodes that process information flows generated and managed from places: it redefines distance but does not cancel geography.” -Manuel Castells

‘The End of Geography’ is a dreamscape where mountains, birds, oceans and trees blend with orbs, spheres and symmetrical patterns. It’s a canvas where the artist brings here imagination as a living entity into the real world. VSUAL showcases some of the images from the collection.
