Welcome to Buenos Aires, a city thrumming with murderous intentions and morbid desires, where missing children come back from the dead and unearthed bones carry terrible curses. These brilliant, unsettling tales of revenge, witchcraft, fetishes, disappearances and urban madness spill over with women and girls whose dark inclinations will lead them over the edge.

My grandma didn't like the rain, and before the first drops fell, when the sky grew dark, she would go out into the backyard with bottles and bury them half-way, with the whole neck underground; she believed those bottles would keep the rain away.- Angelita Unearthed

I enjoyed The Dangers of Smoking in Bed, my first from the author. I stumbled across this book on a random website recommending modern horror fiction. This is a collection of stories, most of which loosely fit into the horror category, some more neatly than others. I enjoyed all of the stories and the fact they were all so different. Some of the pieces are quite disturbing and there's a dark tone running beneath them all.
