Set on a large ranch in rural upstate New York, its early days for the eccentric group of people who call themselves "The Zeta Family" - quite possibly the next big cult phenomenon.
Katie (Amy Goodmurphy), our central protagonist, is an aspiring reporter who has decided to infiltrate the compound, and her future success as a journalist depends entirely on her ability to win the confidence of Zeta Doug (Kevin Nealon), the likable spiritual leader of the group.
He's like a cross between Hunter S. Thompson and George R. R. Martin, with a little too much sci-fi in his head and acid in his blood stream. Like all good cult leaders, Doug is elusive and mysterious, and Katie quickly begins to wonder if this cult is truly just a gnarly collection of weirdo's hanging out in the woods, or is there something else going on here?

I thought this was really funny. I couldn't stop laughing listening to this. The podcast is narrated by Natasha Lyonne, one of my favourite actresses and I wish she'd had a bigger role. The episodes are really short so I could blast through this podcast in a single sitting. I'm working from home at the moment and this entertained me. Katie is adorable, a bit crazy and one-dimensional but in a harmless way. I loved her a little. The Zeta Family pokes fun at cults but in a good way. Is there a bad way to poke fun at a cult of weirdo's hanging out in the woods? The so-called cult characters are hilarious as well, completely bizarre. Katie's mom and best friend / flat mate are horrible people but sort of adorable as well. I loved everyone. What can I say? They got me? This is a treat.
