The World’s Top 10 Best Ways to Make Flan

As kids we all had our favourite desserts we could have eaten everyday. For me it was hot chocolate sponge and chocolate custard. But we also have our dark puddings that none of us liked, mine was the flan. Now since starting to write this post I now know they are called crème caramels in other parts of the world. But call them what you like, I hated it. But maybe it was just the type of flan I had, maybe I should try one of these types….

The World’s Top 10 Best Ways to Make Flan

Coconut flan with orange caramel

10 – Coconut

This rather fruity sounding number adds a rather healthy spin of the original crème caramel recipe. Funny of tangy orange and exotic coconut I would imagine this has a very Caribbean taste to it.  Full recipe and making guide can be found by clicking on the image.

KISSES Caramel Flan Recipe

8 –  Caramel

While this is basically the original crème caramel / flaune recipe it is the ingredients that have been stepped up. Featuring no less than 30 Hershey’s Kisses in each flan it really does sound amazing. With the making guide and recipe in the link I might try and make it!

Now this is a real big spin of the original recipe. Made with fresh spring peas, grated cheese and white pepper it is a real mash up of things. But if you fancy trying it there is a nice recipe and making guide to be found by clicking on the image.

White chocolate flan

4 – White Chocolate

While I am not the biggest fan of white chocolate I think inside a dessert flan it might work well! So if you fancy taking on the milky bar kid at a flan-off this is the one for you. Full recipe and making guide can be found by clicking the image above.

Key Lime Cheesecake Flans

Chocolate Flan

2 – Chocolate

Probably no surprise to many of you that this chocolate one made it all the way up here to number 2. Maybe it was the fresh strawberries side topping that finished me off, but I think this makes a flan very tasty indeed. Fell recipe and making guide in the image link.

Fresh Corn Flan

1 – Corn

Now we are talking my language! Made with fresh corn and roasted hominy it does have a sort of savoury taste to it. But the image makes it look fresh, tasty and well worth a go at making, and thanks to the guide and recipe in the image link we can all try it.
