Bad news for The Witcher: Blood Origin, the prequel to the Netflix series whose filming was to be imminent. Jodie Turner-Smith will no longer be able to play in it for scheduling conflict.

Jodie Turner-Smith leaves the Witcher: Blood Origin series, tells us Deadline. The actress, who was to lend her features to Eile, one of the heroines of the series, could no longer honor her contract due to a conflict of schedules.

Like other productions, the shooting of the prequel had to be postponed several times and therefore no longer coincided with the availability of the actress.The production of The Witcher: Blood Origin must therefore urgently recast his character.

As a reminder, Elie is presented as a formidable fighter endowed with the voice of a goddess who has abandoned her clan and her status as guardian of the Queen to listen to the impulses of her heart and become a traveling musician. But when the moment comes to be held accountable on the Continent, it must take up arms again and continue its quest for revenge and redemption.

The Netflix series will chronicle the birth of the first Witcher but will not be adapted from the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski. The action will take place 1200 years before the adventures of Geralt of Riv (Henry Cavill). Actor Laurence O'Fuarain plays one of the main roles, that of Fjall, a warrior born to protect the king and bereaved by the loss of a loved one who sacrificed his life to save him.

Blood Origin will consist of 6 episodes only.
