Well, winter is finally setting in thoughout central Pennsylvania. I took a walk this morning at State Game Lands 176 (Toftrees) for almost three hours. My sole purpose for going was to get out before I buckle down to study for finals this week and to search for a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker that needed to find its way on my county list for the year. I was able to find 27 species and had the woodpecker sweep! Most of the winter residents managed to find their way onto my list for the morning.
