Review

I saw the tailor for the movie and it look so cute. The Wild Robot is one of the books I got signed at Festival of the Book in DC. My mom took my copy to read to her second grade class and the kids love it.

The Wild Robot has strong themes of nature. In a world of rapidly advancing technology, we can still learn from nature. The book strikes a balance of the existent of technology along side nature. While we can have the former, we need to cherish the latter.

Despite this book being for kids it knows its audience and does not talk down to them. The story hits hard at times. Roz and the animals get hurt. even coming close to dying The author does not shy away nor fluff up how nature is with the cycle of life and death. An intelligent children’s story.

The writing flow nicely with the story. The author does a good job of writing Roz and distinguish her from humans. Mentioning at the right time that Roz does not feel emotions.

The Wild Robot is a short book that read of all ages will love. I will mention the ending will having you wanting to read the next.
