The Whitney Houston Documentary is a must see!
Friday night I went to see the new Whitney Houston documentary from Kevin Macdonald.

Being a huge Whitney fan, I’ve watched every documentary that has come out since her death.  This one by far is the best one yet!

I song along with “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” then, clutched my pearls when Cissy Houston talked about Janet Jackson.

I cried when I saw the wedding footage of Bobby Brown crying as Whitney walked down the aisle at their wedding. *they loved each other*

It was hurtful to find out she was given drugs for her 16th birthday.  Also, to hear from family members that she and her brother were molested by their cousin.

Robin Robin Robin.. Listen Whitney and Robin Crawford had a thing.  It’s obvious from the video footage in the documentary.  I will also go so far as to say that the day Nippy accepted Robin’s resignation, is the day her life started to spiral.

Aunt Bae revealed in the doc, that for the first 8 years of Bobbi Kristina’s life she had her.  Then, Pat Houston revealed that Krissy was cutting her wrist, and even wanted her mother dead.  That  was a bit much for me to handle. Family members and friends, all shared that Bobbi Kristina grew up in an unhealthy environment with her parents.

Towards the end of her life, Whitney was fighting hard to come back.  She checked herself into rehab but couldn’t stay because she was broke. So she went on tour to make some money.  As we all know, that tour was a disaster. Her voice was gone, and folks were walking out of her shows.

Throughout the documentary there is never before seen concert footage, family pics and home videos that will have you asking yourself: “How did this happen to Whitney Houston? How did she end up face down in a bathtub full of hot water? How did she become addicted to drugs?”

Whitney said that she was having dreams of being chased by the devil, and even though he would never catch her, she would wake up dripping in sweat. During her 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer, she said, “the devil is me.”
Truth is, Whitney was sick, and her way of handling it was to lock herself behind closed doors, with closed curtains.. basically in the dark… and you can’t fight darkness with darkness you can only fight it with the Light.
