Classic movies have a special quality that has drawn movie fans to them for decades, and many of them feel especially close to these well-known movies. Fans of the classic movie Way Out West, which starred the British-American comedy duo Laurel & Hardy, can now feel closer to the movie thanks to NFTs and a new project by the Australian company MovieShots.
And this isn’t just for the Laurel and Hardy movie because MovieShots lets you make NFTs with stills from all kinds of movies. The first one was the classic movie “Run Lola Run,” and after people liked it, another classic movie was chosen.
A Piece of Hollywood
For its latest movie, Way Out West, the company has teamed up with Beta Film GmbH. After the famous black-and-white movie was chosen, 555 collectibles were made. Each one represents a different part of the movie from beginning to end, and they will go on sale on November 28, 2022. The people in charge of MovieShots say that this is a step toward making old Hollywood movies live on the blockchain.
“Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy have etched themselves into our cultural memory and we are honoured to immortalize this cultural legacy in the form of digital collectibles on the blockchain,” said MovieShots founder Jan Leitenbauer.
