In the second instalment of the Waringham drama series we join Robin, the dispossessed son of the Earl of Waringham, as he returns to England from the battlefields in France. The wheel of fortune keeps on turning and although Robin has survived the horrors of war, his fate at home is far from secure. Expertly narrated by Miriam Margolyes OBE and featuring a full cast.

I thought the first volume of The Waringham Chronicles was excellent so I was looking forward to this. Thankfully, this lived up to my high expectations. The quality of this audio drama is as high as I've come to expect. As for the plot, this picks up soon after the first volume ended and has as much drama as The Runaway. Fate seems to be smiling on Robin but there is darkness ahead as his wife's deranged brother in law wreaks havoc and chaos and leaves death and madness sin his wake. I listened to this for hours at a time because I got so caught up in the story and I wanted to know if there was any light at the end of the dark, dark tunnel. This is brilliant. I'll listen to volume 3 next and will buy the other books in the series as they are released.
