The country's first solar-powered car has been launched after the wait. Vayve Mobility unveiled this solar car at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 held in New Delhi. The price of the solar-powered car called Eva starts at Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in three variants – Nova, Stella and Vega.

Buyers can opt for the battery as a subscription or purchase it with the vehicle. The Vayve Eva with battery will cost Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and the battery subscription will cost Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). In both cases this price is introductory and will be offered only to the first 25,000 customers. Deliveries will begin by 2026, the company said.

This small hatchback car has a flexible solar panel on the roof, which is claimed to provide an extra range of up to 10 km per day. According to Vayve Mobility, this solar electric car will cost 0.5 paise per kilometer to drive. As a result, it is more affordable than other electric vehicles available in the market.

The Eva battery is said to run up to 250 km on a full charge. And 3000 km extra range will be available per year from solar panels. Again, 5 minutes of charging will add power to the car for 50 km. The Vayve Eva solar car can sprint from 0-40 km/h in just 5 seconds.

The model includes smartphone integration, over-the-air (OTA) updates, remote monitoring and vehicle diagnostics features. It is known that two people can sit in this car. The vehicle is expected to change the world of transportation in the country due to its low cost and solar panels.
