The Volcano Rescue from Whakaari is a documentary following the events of an unexpected eruption of Whakaari. Also known as White Island, it follows the survivors who had been expecting an amazing experience. However, the trip turned into a nightmare when the volcano erupted.
Here, we get to hear about the experiences that the people went through during the eruption. The people who could only watch on from the boat and the people on the mainland. It sees the survivors talking about the horrific incident they went through. As well as seeing the people that risked their lives to make sure they could save as many people as possible.
This is an incredible story of survival in the tragedy that showed the risks people took to save as many people as they could. It shows how dangerous the tourist location became in an instant. This also showed how the community came together to do as much as they could when survivors made it back to the shoreline.
