The show doesn't open until September 15, but to go by the sneak peek recently given the media, this Freddie Santos-directed production is pulling out all the stops to create a sumptuous, eye-popping spectacle. Watch:

From BroadwayWorld.com/Philippines:
Prolific stage and concert director Freddie Santos directs “The King and I”, which features Leo Valdez and Bo Cerrudo as the King, and Monique Wilson and Shiela Valderrama as Anna Leonowens.
Winner of five Tony Awards, “The King and I,” which is based on the novel titled “Anna and the King of Siam” by Margaret Landon, tells the story of a British governess Anna Leonowens, who is hired by the King of Siam to take care of his many children. The relationship between the two is marred by conflicting ideologies, which prevent them from acknowledging and expressing their love for each other.
The musical is known for its unforgettable score that includes “Getting to Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “We Kiss in the Shadow,” and “Shall We Dance.”
Also in the cast are Gina Respall (Lady Thiang), Apple Chiu (Lady Thiang), Tanya Manalang (Tuptim), Marian Santiago (Tuptim), Lorenz Martinez (Lun Tha), Floyd Tena (Lun Tha), Anton Posadas (Prince Chulalongkorn), James Gabriel Ketcher (Louis Leonowens), and the Philippine Ballet Theater company.
Aksana Sidarava and Philippine fashion icon Rajo Laurel design the costumes.
