Thoughts on The Vault

Characters & Performances – Thom is the genius engineer graduate who is struggling to find anything to keep him motivated, until Walter comes into his life, to offer him a chance to work for him on solving a problem about a safe nobody can crack. Thom can come across as a person who can see himself as better than anyone else in the room, believing he can solve any problem. Walter is the leader of the team, looking to break into the safe, putting together a team he believes can get the job done, being the smart leader, using the strengths of the people he recruits. When it comes to the rest of the team, we get the typical roles filled in, as Thom is the one that needs to learn how the adapt to the team. The performances in this film are strong, with Freddie Highmore as the new member of the team, while Liam Cunningham dominants the screen.

StoryThe Vault will see the newest member of a team bought in to help with a bank heist, which will see the team needed to solve the mystery behind a specially designed safe that has never been broken into, branded the genius of engineering. This story will unfold like most heist movies, offering up very little new, but it will offer enough of a mystery about the safe, despite having most of the problems solved pretty quickly, not in the way that is used to show of the genius Thom is meant to be.

ThemesThe Vault is a crime thriller that will play into the heist side of the film, seeing how the events unfold, bringing the set pieces of the Spanish back to the mainstream, while holding each part of the film around the world cup where Spain were competing in causing the distractions

Signature Entertainment presents The Vault on Digital Platforms 7th March

Final Thoughts The Vault is a fun heist film, that is smooth, but it focused too much on the next chapter it wants to tell.
