The Valentine's Day Disaster: A Twilight Texas Novella by Lori Wilde is a February 2014 Avon Publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
Sesty Snow is an event planner in charge of Twilight's annual Valentine's Day Bachelor auction. This Valentine's Day Sesty is particularly turned off by all the gooey hearts and flowers associated with February 14th. She recently broke up with her boyfriend and is in no mood for all the romantic sentiment. The very last thing she needs is a face to face run in with her high school sweethart, Josh Langtree.
Josh left Twilight ten years ago and became a NASCAR driver. Recently, he has had a run of bad luck. He had a wreck and now has a bad knee. His fiance cheated on him, and he got arrested for trespassing and vandalism. He has now been sentenced to community service which leads him to Sesty and her auction.
Will the old flames burst into a raging fire or will the flame burn out? Will the magical town of Twilight set the stage for a long overdue happy ever after for Sesty and Josh?
Sometimes it happens. First love is true love and it's a forever kind of love. Sesty and Josh never forgot one another despite a ten year seperation. But, ten years is a long time and both of them have been through some hard times. Fear of taking a chance again on love gets things off to a rocky start. Sesty's head does battle with her heart as she weighs the pros and cons of getting involved with Josh after all this time. Josh seems a little more grounded now. A near death experience might to do that to someone. He gives the impression that he is ready for a change of scenery. He had everything he ever wanted, but he feels hollow and burned out. Deep down he knows that all the excuses he has used to return to his hometown were just a smokescreen. Twilight was calling him home, but Sesty was real reason he was here.
Twilight stories are always magical. A sweet hometown contemporary love story released just in time for Valentine's Day. This one gets a B+
