There will be plenty of Invisible Bordeaux themes on the agenda when we perform an unplugged set alongside Luces 3641 at the Pierre-Veilletet library in Caudéran on Saturday December 2nd at 4pm as part of the "Premières Scènes" series of concerts. Be there!
As loyal readers will know, in recent months (years?) the Invisible Bordeaux blog has often taken a backseat to the live and studio musical project Slowrush. However, one feeds into the other for, yes, much of the blog can be found in Slowrush’s output, given that many of the songs’ lyrical themes draw on subjects covered here in the past.
While most of the band’s live dates are in settings where it’s not that easy to delve into the background stories of song meanings, on Saturday December 2nd we will be performing at the Pierre-Veilletet library in the Caudéran district of Bordeaux. We have a distinct feeling the studious environment and hopefully receptive audience may be perfectly suited to delivering more information than usual about the lyrics so… if you want to hear what the world of Invisible Bordeaux sounds like in song, do come along!
Among the niche subjects that we have adapted into music and will be sharing in Caudéran are the 3D bronze relief maps of Bordeaux, Parc Floral’s twin city gardens, the legacy of silent movie star Max Linder, the UFO landing pad in Arès, and our thrilling road-trips to the center of the northern hemisphere in nearby Puynormand. We will also be revealing a brand new song loosely inspired by the career of the legendary songwriter and performer Mort Shuman, whose final resting place is quite literally across the road from the venue where we will be performing.
After our set, which begins at 4pm, we will hand over to our friends Patricia and Jérôme who form Luces 3641, delivering their unique brand of energetic, melodic electro-pop. Hurrah!
