There are millions of cars on the roads in the UK, but did you know a fairly big percentage of them date from last century? The results of a MoneySupermarket survey show that there are certain ‘veteran vehicles’ that we really love, and despite being 10, 20, 30 or more years old the numbers are still high. Top of the list is the good old VW Beetle. Favourite of many people from hippys to headteachers, it really is a design classic. The survey also showed that whilst cars from the 70s and before were considered ‘classic’, the reason for keeping cars from the 80s or 90s was nearly all financial.
