The Travel Scam ?

Posted on the 02 June 2017 by Worldwide @thedomains

Would you travel to another country to close a $50K deal ?

There is an interesting thread on Namepros where a member posted about a potential buyer wanting him to travel to another country to close the deal.

Hell guys
A strange request from a potential buyer for one of my domain names.
He want me to travel to his country to complete the deal face to face.
I have asked him to use Escrow services but he replied that he is not comfortable with it.
What is your feedback guys?
Thanks for all.

The thread starter goes on to say that the prospect turned down using escrow, meeting with a broker in person or any other alternative solution.

The lead came from eBay, and the seller has no real way to verify the buyer. The buyer is located in Los Angeles.

Needless to say most have replied, no,no,no or scam alert. One member wondered what the scam would be ? Fly to the U.S. and I recommend you use this travel agent for booking the trip. All the while the buyer owns the travel agent.

If it’s a scam it certainly could be more nefarious than just earning a commission.

So would you travel to another country to close a $50K sale ?

P.S. The seller has said they have no intentions of going, no rush to sell and have had similar offers.
