Lets face it, it’s now almost December and that means yet another year gone by. We wanted to take this opportunity to put together, what we Dudes believe, are the top best movies and films of 2012. It was a great year for movies of all time, action, comedy, adventure, thrillers and even horrors, 2012 brought a vast selection of all the best movies, here’s our best of the best movies of 2012.
10. 21 Jump Street – Not only was this movie absolutely hilarious, but both Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum did a great job at making the ride enjoyable almost the whole time. If you haven’t seen 21 jump street yet, it’s essentially two cops, Hill and Tatum, who go undercover as students to bust a high school drug ring but with hysterically disastrous results throughout. We think 21 Jump street is a great comedy film to start our list off. You can also grab a copy right here.
9. The Angel’s Share – What better than a good ol’ UK flick about Crime, Scotch and making money… If you haven’t seen the Angel’s Share yet, it’s definitely worth a watch and takes our number 9 position fairly easily. The Angels’ Share is about a young man named Robbie, who is an ex-offender and new father who taken on an epic adventure with his new friends to a whisky distillery. Sound interesting, we thought so.
8. Marvel’s the Avengers – Say what you will but we truly believe that Marvel’s the Avengers is well deserving of the number 8 position for the top best movies of 2012. Not only were the effects, action and characters pretty epic, but the movie did a great job of colliding Marvel’s previous movies into a move that just, made sense. Avengers features, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow… how can you go wrong?
7. Looper - If you haven’t had a chance to see Looper yet, don’t worry, there’s no spoilers here. Although this movie can be quite confusing at times that’s effectively what makes it interesting and worth the watch. With parts of the movie bringing back flashbacks of the Matrix and other time-lapsing flicks, Looper is definitely worth a watch and deserving of the number 7 position. Looper is about the invention of time travel, except that it is illegal and restricted to the privileged.
6. The Cabin in the Woods - About time for something a little more… intense. If you’re thinking, “oh, cabin in the woods, i’ve heard that story before”, then you’re very very wrong. Not only will this movie scare the living c#ap out of you, it’s perhaps one of the scariest, most thrilling horror movies of the near past. At it’s most basic, the Cabin in the Woods is about five friends that travel to a remote cabin in a woods.. yes, sounds exciting doesn’t it. Trust us, you can take any slasher movie you’ve seen and we almost guarantee this will absolutely top it.
5. The Hunger Games - We’ve spoken to a few people and most give us very different opinions on the Hunger Games, some like it, some are offended and others just completely hate it. That said, we put it at number 5 because it’s just that, one of those movies that you have to watch and develop your own opinion; then let us know of course. Simply put, Hunger Games is like gladiator except the gladiators are children, the time is futuristic and the playground is much larger and more complex.
To bo continued……
