I managed to keep power during the hurricane, and with nothing else do do, I watched a lot of tv/film. So here’s a rather large list for a Thursday.
1) She Hulk (Disney Plus)

So, for fans of obscure Marvel characters, you got your wish this episode. However, why I put this on top is that the show has given Tim Roth’s A-Bob a chance to really grow, in a way where he might even be useful one day. He managed to sit down with Jen and really work some stuff out, while the least surprising plot development of the series played out at the end.

2) Never Have I Ever (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I really liked this episode, where after being faced with some unpleasant facts about her boyfriend, she actually got him to own up and apologize for his past misdeeds, really showing that this is a new version of himself. Great for Paxton. Meanwhile, it was nice for the overly traditional family members to meet that teacher who doesn’t even speak their language, nor has he visited india. That was well written as well.

3) The Connors (ABC)

Showing our two new married couples trying to cohabitate and actually enjoy each other’s company was fun. Ben apparently wants to do artsy stuff, while Darlene just wants to be her dad. It’s not until Dad passes along some solid advice that she gets off her ass.

4) Harley Quinn (HBo MAX)

So the season ends in a weird place, where Ivy is now in charge of the Legion Of Doom, while Harley gets recognized for being a hero in the zombie apocalypse scenario. Supposedly, this won’t affect their relationship, but how can it not?

5) Paper Girls (Amazon)

So the time travel didn’t exactly work out as planned, but it gave KJ the opportunity to take a peek at her future. And she was surprised by it. I wasn’t a big fan of the character choices for Larry this episode, but mostly I’m still just sad this show got cancelled.

6) New Amsterdam (NBC/Peacock)

Max finds a way to prescribe non-drugs, like bus passes, believing preventative care comes in all forms. Meanwhile, Iggy tries out the dating game, and a baseball pitcher makes a difficult choice. Not as emotionally draining as the first episode, but typically great for the series.

7) Maggie (Hulu)

Maggie and friends chaperone a prom, giving Maggie flashbacks to her own prom when no one believed her and thought she was some crazy side show act. Now, she’s actually a side show act as kids ask her for her psychic predictions.
Episode Grade: B+
8) Five Days At memorial (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Watching this during a hurricane takes on a new life of its own. THat’s all I have to say. I’m still juggling the massive ensemble, and it’s difficult trying to pin down any characters to follow. It seems like the net was cast quite wide for this. The story is good, and it still hasn’t gotten to the worst part yet.

9) The Masked Singer (FOX/ hulu)

What. The. Fuck. is. up. With. This. Format. Talk about ruining a good thing. Not only are people being sent home in chunks, but for some reason, Amber Riley has to sing for her life every fucking week? What the kind of shitshow is this? She’s now won two episodes, how many does it take to be a semi finalist? She’s eliminated 5 people. not putting her through at this point is absurd. And yes, I’m 100% sure that’s Amber. I hate this format with a raging passion. At first, it annoyed me, but knowing that Amber has to sing AGAIN next week for a third time, has me fucking furious.
