The Too Much TV Roundup- November 25th

Posted on the 26 November 2022 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

How did you spend your Black Friday? Binge watching? Supposedly 30% of American’s don’t buy anything this weekend. At least, that was what some guy on the news said. (his actual statement was that 7 out of 10 Americans will buy something this weekend, I just reversed it). I was in that 7 of 10, and i still got my Roundup done.

7) Acapulco (Apple Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

You know, I think I’m just going to let this one go. Four episodes in, and it’s not clicking with me.

Episode Grade: C+

6) Unsolved Mysteries (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

We only get 4 new episodes in the first season, and this one about a missing guy, a floating boat, and the mystery… just did not grab me at all. I Leto thinking… Bradenton? It’s not that far away. you’d think I would have heard about this case. Weird.

Episode Grade: B-

5) Mike (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Well, it’s good to know the show has learned nothing from trying to make Mike some cuddly teddy bear doing a standup routine, even in the episode directly following his rape conviction, that addresses the time he spent in prison. Not that it’s the same thing, but I have a feeling that if Ryan Murphy’s Dahmer had taken this same light hearted comedy romp through his life, most people would have turned it off. This show constantly feels like it’s coming up with an excuse, as Tyson keeps talking about feeling like garbage, but it doesn’t excuse his behavior. It just doesn’t. I was hoping the show would get more real, but it’s back to the obnoxious stand up routine. Trevante Rhodes does good work, but I hate myself for watching this every week.

Episode Grade: B-

4) Tell Me lies (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

While I love the reference to an old album I listened to back in the day with the title of the episode, this somehow feels like we are moving further away from mystery, and more into random college bullshit. Like, in this episode, a girl is shamed for not telling her sexual partner she was a virgin.Another one of the boys gets caught up in lying about traveling to Europe in an effort to impress a girl. We are backtracking.

Episode Grade: B

3) The Masked Singer (FOX/Hulu)

English Audio Description?: No

I did not guess the eliminated contestant this week, but I also think she was the right choice. I believe our finale is Amber Riley vs The cheetah Girls. I’m 100% on that first one, and about 75% on that second one.

Episode Grade: B+

2) The Last Light (Peacock)

English Audio Description?: Yes

I loved the little boy and his speech to his mom about her letting him guide them since he’s used to not being able to see, and how he loved driving not because he was driving, but because his dad trusted him. It’s hard not to root for a show with blind characters anymore. i wish he was a better actor, but you can’t always get what you want. That cliffhanger ending was nice.

Episode Grade: A-

1) Grace and Frankie (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

I am really trying to stretch out the last season of this show. This episode featured our titular duo heading into Mexico, wrecking a marriage, and leaving us on a cliffhanger ending where Grace made it through, but is worried Frankie won’t. Also, are we trying to all of a sudden give Martin Sheen some dementia/Alzheimer’s storyline right at the end? His singing was really good, and i honestly didn’t know he was that good.

Episode Grade: A
